Wallace & Gromit need your help: time to 'Get Cracking'!

To celebrate the 30th anniversary of Wallace & Gromit, the UK Intellectual Propery Office (IPO) has brought back its brilliant Cracking Ideas competition ! Open to children aged 4-11, the competition is a great way for them to have fun inventing - the challenge is to look at every day objects and improve them. But be quick - the competition closing date is April 24th.

The 'Cracking Ideas' team have also provided activity packs for all ages groups to support the competition from KS1 (aged 5-7) to KS4 (aged 14-16).

Aardman Animations Free Resources

The team at Aardman Animations also provide some great resources on their website for all ages, including downloadable puzzles, educational projects, recipes, videos, and online games to play.

You can also visit the Wallace & Gromit YouTube channel for some fab Aardman clips and animation videos.

Taking inspiration from master inventor Wallace and his helpful companion Gromit, can you work on your own, with a friend or in a group to come up with a game-changing invention? With the help of a range of fun activities that tie in with national curriculum learning objectives, Cracking Ideas challenges you to get your thinking caps on to design a new product while finding out how to trademark and protect your brilliant idea. As well as the chance to have your invention brought to life you could also win some amazing prizes including an animation workshop with Aardman ! Check out the video for more information!
