Celebrate Earth Day with a neigbourhood safari

To mark Earth Day on Wednesday 22 April, National Geographic is encouraging us to join NatGeo@Home's Earth Day neighbourhood safari.

Get your kids to draw their favourite wild animal or a safari scene. These could include pavement chalk sketches, original drawings or artwork, or animal coloured pages. You can inspire younger children with these fun critter facts, or show older kids Nat Geo's encyclopedia of animals.

When ready show the creations off to your community: hang them on your door, window, balcony or attach to the pavement for passers-by to see!

Encourage neighbours to participate so everyone can spot animals on their personal family safari stroll (at a safe distance, of course!). If you use social media remember to share with #NatGeoEarthDayAtHome.

Right now it’s more important than ever for parents to show their children how amazing the world is. That’s why, to celebrate Earth Day, NatGeo@Home is "hosting" neighborhood safaris to inspire everyone to engage as a family to explore the planet through its amazing animals.
