Explore Andy Warhol @ Tate Modern - and make your own pop art!

Virtual Tour of Tate Modern’s Andy Warhol Exhibit

Last month, only days after London’s Tate Modern opened its exhibition on Andy Warhol, the COVID-19 pandemic forced the museum to close.

However, now you can visit the exhibition virtually. The Tate Modern released a video giving an online tour of the Andy Warhol exhibit.

"While a digital tour can never replicate the feeling of being in an actual museum, the Tate staffers hope that the project will nonetheless bring art and happiness to everyone."

Make pop art like Warhol

To coincide with the exhibition, Tate Kids have provided some great activities for children to design their own pieces of pop art inspired by the famous artist, including Design your own soup can and Making a selfie artwork.

They also provide a kid's introduction to Andy Warhol, how to make a pop art hat and a kid's introduction to pop art.

Warhol was famous for exploring everyday and familiar objects in his work, using brands such as Coca-Cola, Brillo and Campbell’s Soup. He liked the idea of taking ordinary things, for example cereal or bananas, and turning them into art. He did this with his famous print of a tomato soup can. He also made a print of every type of soup that Campbell's made!
