Tomorrow is Alice's Day! Get creative with Oxford's Story Museum on 4th July and beyond ...

The Story Museum, based in the centre of Oxford, UK is a wonderfully unusual museum where stories are celebrated in all forms - through immersive exhibitions, gallery spaces and events. Alice's Day on 4th July each year is one such event.

This year is the 200th anniversary of the birth of Sir John Tenniel, political cartoonist and illustrator of Alice's Adventures in Wonderland. The Story Museum's theme for Alice's Day this year is 'Picture This' - to mark the birth of Sir John Tenniel. Events will include Live Draw Along with Chris Riddell (11.00am (BST) on 4 July when Chris will be drawing on a theme of 'Lockdown Wonderland') and #PictureThis Challenge (a challenge to recreate scenes from Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland and Through the Looking Glass at home).

The full programme will be posted on The Story Museum website and Facebook page on 4 July. You can also download the Alice's Day activity sheet from The Story Museum.

Each year the city of Oxford celebrates Lewis Carroll's internationally-loved classic 'Alice's Adventures in Wonderland'. This year we'll be falling down a virtual rabbit hole from 4 July. The theme for our online Alice's Day is 'Picture This' to mark 200 years since the birth of Sir John Tenniel, whose illustrations for Lewis Carroll’s Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland made him a household name. Throughout July we'll be celebrating Tenniel’s legacy and beyond with a host of 'Picture This' family activities with our partners.
