If you have already signed up to Harry Potter At Home you will probably know that they have started special video readings of Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone/Sorcerer’s Stone, each chapter read by a different contributor (including Stephen Fry, David Beckham, Dakota Fanning, Claudia Kim, Noma Dumezweni, and Eddie Redmayne!).

You can join a host of different celebrities for a different story read each night. Celebrities include Tom Hardy, Sam Mendes, Jodie Whittaker, Ewan McGregor, George Ezra, Simon Callow and Nadiya Hussain.

'Save with Stories'

Helen Mirren, Stephen Fry, Jude Law, Poppy Delevingne, Lily James, Nicholas Hoult  and others are reading daily bedtime stories for Save the Children, to help raise urgent funds for the children and families who’ve been hardest hit by the coronavirus crisis.

Another free resource during the Covid-19 epidemic, Storyline Online streams videos featuring celebrated actors reading children’s books alongside creatively produced illustrations. Their latest actors to join the team include Rami Malek, Michelle Yeoh and Elijah Wood.

In conjunction with the literacy initiative READ TOGETHER, BE TOGETHER, PBS Kids are providing a set of virtual storytime programs featuring a whole bunch of author and celebrity readers including Michelle Obama.
